The belt you earn and your uniform is an outward sign of your place in the martial arts world. They represent you, your school and instructors...they should be worn with pride and dignity.


UNIFORM POLICY

The only jewelry allowed to be worn is a wedding band and/or a medic alert bracelet or necklace.

The uniform (DoBok) and belt you earn and wear is an outward sign of you as a martial artist. The way you wear it is an indication of your seriousness as a martial artist. They should be worn with pride and dignity.

Don’t play or eat in your uniform. Never use your belt as a toy or drag it on the ground or floor. DO NOT wear your belt outside of the DoJang except for special events.

Uniforms must be clean and flat pressed at all times. It is a good idea to have more than one uniform. DO NOT attend class with a dirty or wrinkled uniform.

Stained, greying, torn or frayed uniforms must be replaced.

Only solid colored T-shirts may be worn under the uniform.

Arm and leg cuffing must be done on the inside. This is to insure uniformity and student safety.

Patches or other embroidery may not be placed on the uniform without permission of Mr. Woodside and Mr. Mello.

1st Dan Black Belts and above may wear any approved TKD uniform they desire.

1st Dan Black Belts and above may have their name and a gold bar embroidered on their belts and Semper Fi Tae Kwon Do embroidered across their back in gold.

Ranks below 1st Brown will wear a 2 piece, tie across, white TKD uniform.

Ranks 1st Brown thru Black Belt recommended may opt to wear either a solid black or white TKD uniform.

Those who earn a blue TEAM CLARK uniform, regardless of rank, may wear that uniform to all demonstrations, competitions or seminars.



REQUIRED SPARRING EQUIPMENT

Sparring equipment must be kept clean and in good condition. Tape may not be used on foam shoes or gloves. Gloves and shoes that are torn or cracked must be replaced. They are unsafe and hold germs.

Clean all of your fight gear once a week in a warm light soapy solution. Don’t forget the shin guards!

Be sure they are completely dry before you put them back in your gear bag. Clean the inside of the bag too.

HEAD GEAR: Required for Yellow Belts and above.
Head gear must be worn during all sparring and grappling sessions. Head gear must conform to tournament specifications.
If you have braces or need glasses to spar, we can order a face shield.

MOUTH GUARD: A double guard with air passages is required for all sparring and grappling sessions.

FOOT GEAR: Foam foot gear must be worn during all sparring sessions.

SHIN GUARDS: Only foam strap-on or cloth and foam slip-ons allowed

GLOVES: Brown belts & above and adults must have regulation boxing gloves for full contact sparring. If you intend to participate in tournaments and point sparring training you must have foam gloves. Owning your own gloves is a hygiene necessity

ATHLETIC SUPPORT: All male students must wear a supported and cup for all training sessions, point sparring, full contact training sessions, and all seminars.


OPTIONAL GEAR (not required)

MARTIAL ARTS SHOE: These are not sparring shoes. They may be worn at anytime. They help with foot hygiene, foot comfort and in some cases better balance. Shoes may be ordered from Mr. Woodside.
